Last week Xerox announced a new feature that will allow translation of documents with the push of a button. Easy Translator Service works with ConnectKey enabled multifunction printers. Xerox also offers the service on both IOS and Android devices for mobile users.
The translation tool is simple, scan the document, choose one of 40 available languages, and receive a printed, translated copy of the document. Xerox is offering their customer free translation of their first 30 pages within 30 days. After that the fee is $10 per 10 machine-translated pages.
There is also a web based service that offers even more of a personalized service. There are four levels of translation offered: the basic machine-translation; Express, which is also machine-translated, but reviewed and edited by an actual person; Professional, which offers human translation of documents; and Expert, which allows document translation by translators specialized in certain fields. Human translation comes at a cost starting at 10 cents a word.
The mobile app allows the same functionality. Users simply snap a picture of the document they are wanting to translate and receive the translated version. Xerox has been working hard to make its services more mobile friendly.
